get involved

Volunteers are a trained group people who selflessly devote some of their time each year to support the hospital staff and patients.

They are a very important part of hospital life and make a difference providing a special human connection that often eases the stress for patients and families going through some very difficult times.

At the hospital

Patient and Parent Support

This role is working directly with patients, supporting emotionally or practically, guiding, keeping company and chatting to parents and families.

Volunteers must be mature, enthusiastic, caring and reliable. They need to demonstrate initiative, independence, and problem solving skills and must be able to interact and engage with children of all ages and teenagers.

A group of 10 volunteers in being trained right now to join and help the medical teams care for the families with children hospitalized in the Paediatric Neurosurgery, Neurology, Neuro-Radiology, Oncology and ICU Unites.

Due to overwhelming response we are not accepting applications to the “Patient and Parent Support Program” at this time.

Please do keep checking back regularly for updates.

Breakfast Buddies

This team organises and runs the monthly “Oscar’s Angels’ Breakfast” for the patients, the families and the staff of the Paediatric Neurology Unit.

Paediatric Neurosurgery Awakening Room Program

The Volunteer assists the Paediatric Neurosurgery Awakening Room Staff with the patient and families before and after surgery.

Volunteers liaise between patients, families and clinical staff and offer respite/relief to caregivers and one on one care to patients.

They provide emotional support and will lend a listening ear and a supportive heart to family members in need.

the "no surrender" dream team

Become a Member of this great groups of volunteers spread all over the world that work together to make this Parents’ dream come true!

How was The "NO SURRENDER" Dream Team born?

Essentially the idea was born the moment that our President Anita Granero, a Bruce Springsteen fan, saw him in concert in Milan 2012. When Anita returned home and shared her experience with many parents, she discovered some very well hidden and unsuspected BOSS Fans, many who enthusiastically said they wished they were there too!

So we thought: Why not offer THE EXPERIENCE OF A LIVE SPRINGSTEEN SHOW to the parents?

The experience of the camaraderie, the joy, the smiling all around and making new friends is unparalleled anywhere because a Springsteen show is considered by many to be THE GREATEST LIVE SHOW around!

So, here is your chance to join a group of very dedicated fans/volunteers and help us give the parents and the kids something great to remember forever!
